There are seven fundamental types of catastrophes. Beauty is not one of them.

100% Pure Organic Coffee Bean Caffeine Eye Cream: cool but itchy

wanting to try out more natural beauty products, I decided to start with 100% Pure. 100% Pure products are just that – pure – no synthetic chemicals, chemical preservatives, artificial fragrances, artificial colors, harsh detergents or any other unhealthy toxins. they also love animals and refuse to support anything that hurts them which is another wonderful aspect of this company. everything they use is food grade and does not require testing, (whereas chemical ingredients must be tested). even their makeup brushes are from synthetic fibers. the only animal ingredient they use is cruelty free honey. sweet huh? (pun intended) 🙂

so last month, I placed my first order & selected three products that I’ve been using ever since, but this review is about their Organic Coffee Bean Caffeine Eye Cream. this eye cream comes in a glass bottle with a pump dispenser and has a milky-white consistency. It’s thick not runny and blends easily into the eye area without leaving a residual greasy or sticky feeling behind.

from the first use, I loved the cool feel of it. almost cold despite remaining on my bathroom counter. smells strongly like coffee beans but the scent dissipates quickly and did not interfere with the scent of my parfum.

for the first use, I applied it to one eye only for a comparison. I noticed I kept rubbing my eye as the day progressed. fortunately, I was makeup free that day so nothing smeared or damaged my lashes but I wanted to be sure so the next day, I applied this cream to both eyes & continued to use it for a few days before coming to the firm realization that this eye cream makes my eyes itchy and irritated.

I had to stop using it after about one week but during that time there was no reduction in puffiness or fine lines. actually, the irritation it caused resulted in a slight puffiness which is expected given the itchy feeling. as you can see from the pic above, it’s still pretty full so I had planned on returning it but guess who forgot to do so before the timeframe expired? yep, missed the boat on that one so maybe I’ll give it to my sis to see if she has any reactions to it. I’d give it to my mom but her skin is far too sensitive to take chances. had this worked out for me, I think the bottle would’ve lasted a long time, seeing as how one squirt is enough for both eyes so a little goes a long way. I used it daily for 7 days and it’s still almost full. I haven’t used it for a few weeks now but squirted a pump-full onto the back of my hand before snapping the pic for this post and it still feels cool with the coffee scent strong as ever. 1 fl oz. retails for $19.00.

I’ll add reviews for my other 100% Pure purchases in future posts.
