the other day it dawned on me how oblivious I’ve become to my affinity for neutrals: grey, brown, black & navy but especially grey. I don’t know what it is about grey but somewhere around my early 20’s, I became drawn to it & I still am. something about grey just says clean & sophisticated, in my opinion. I’m certain my decade & a half long stint in a corporate environment has much to do with that. grey is always acceptable at the office but now I want more color in my life & what’s more colorful than yellow? It’s bright, warm & can be worn by anyone but it’s all about the level of color saturation & tone. I for one, don’t look good in cool pastel anything. I have a warm skin tone, so brighter, warmer shades look best on me. If I wear yellow, I opt for the golden hued deeper shades to make sure I don’t look washed out, but regardless of the shade or color, I don’t want to spend a fortune on updating my wardrobe. I guess you can say I’m actively frugal & proud of it! 🙂
Some suggestions for adding a lil lemon to your look without breaking the bank – everything’s under $100:
Yellow is such a fun, bright color for spring! I adore all of your yellow picks…thanks so much for the love!
