There are seven fundamental types of catastrophes. Beauty is not one of them.

{color your world} orange you glad it’s almost summer

okay, corny headlines aside, I’m really glad summer’s almost here. maybe it’s because I’m a July baby and I’m usually at my best during the warm months. the wardrobe’s easier to navigate, that’s for sure & just like in my lemon-loving post, orange is another color that can be worn by anyone. again, it’s all about the shade intensity people. find your shade & you got it made!

as usual, I like to keep my fashion expose’s cost-conscious… here are a few tangerine hued teasers that tickle my fancy at a reasonable price…

Stella & Dot Capri Chandelier Earrings
$49 –
I love these chandelier earrings. The beads were hand set and they would perfectly compliment jeans or maxi dress. Accessories, like pricier wardrobe items should be able to work with a wide-range of clothing.

Kate Spade Dotz Bib Necklace
$148 –
This Kate Spade bib necklace is a statement piece. It will stand out no matter what you’re wearing. I wouldn’t go too matchy-matchy with earrings or rings with this because I’d feel like I was bordering on gaudy. Simple stud earrings would be the only other piece of jewelry I’d wear with this & for the attire, I’m thinking little black dress & nude pumps.

Nine West Bracelet, Large Colorblock Stretch Bangle
$38 –
Definitely bold & big with a bunch of color choices to pair up with your wardrobe. Choose from bright red, orange or blue. Set in silver tone mixed metal. Here is where my other accessories will be kept s-s-s-simple, I feel like too many colors makes me look like a clown so I don’t go overboard. Silver hoop earrings & a slim ring.

Haskell Earrings, Fuchsia And Orange Disc Drop Earrings
$15 –
A lil retro vibe going on here but a great colorful mix still the same. Cheap, fun & simple though not understated. They would look nice with a sheer pink lip & coral eyeshadow.

Orange Mixed Bead Stretch Bracelet
$15 (£9.60) –
Another stretchy bracelet option reminiscent of a freshly sliced orange.

Tasha Enamel Stone Kite Earrings
$38 – Gold and orange dangly earrings add a bit of modern pyramid allure to any outfit.

Nine West Earrings, Orange Linear Drop Earrings
$28 –
Bold yet simple. Dangly earrings in a fresh orange color that would highlight a white cropped summer blazer (no linen, please) & silk orange sleeveless blouse with a pair of crisp white summer slacks & platform cork wedges in an orange & brown combo, topped off with a bright blue clutch.

D&G P Large Basic Glam
$135 –
The P Large Basic Glam D&G sunglasses. Cute huh? And shades are a must-have not an option in the summer sun.

Sun & Sand Orange Striped Straw Hat
$15 –
As I said in my yellow post, straw hats are so very necessary. I just wish I had somewhere to wear one. This hat makes me want to use the word “pleasantry” before taking a sip of my mojito. Bless its heart.

Tory Burch Leather Logo Buckle Bracelet
$125 –
I don’t really care much for logo items but I find the masculinity of this leather bracelet appealing. Very sexy. I’d pair it with a simple feminine blouse and slacks for a lil balance against the contrast. The gold and rust are perfect together.

Orange Stone And Multi Gold Chain Bracelet
$15 (£9.60) –
The orange stones and gold chains compliment each other and would look chic suited against a little black dress or rocker tee with jeans & blazer. Some gold dangly earrings and simple gold band ring would finish my look. Coral lips are a must too.

Aqua Pink and Orange Stone Leaf Drop Earrings
$30 –
Color blocking with orange & fuchsia is definitely a trend this summer but in this case, its one that I really like. A hint of vintage design with a bright trendy current color.

24 Row Orange Seedbead Stretch Bracelet Org/Burnt Brick
$6 –
Nice and chunky with dazzling colors. Super cheap for sprucing up your wardrobe for less than the cost of lunch. Literally.

Gillian’s Orange 4 Piece Wood & Gold Metal Bangle Set
$19 –
Wood + metal bangle = natural summer bohemian vibe. The four piece set is made up of an orange bangle, a studded bangle, a gold tone bangle and a wooden one. I love pairing a soft bronze smokey eye with shimmery bronze gloss and soft waves when I’m inspired by natural jewelry. Pretty cute and the price is even cuter.

ANTIK BATIK Orange Bracelet
$49 –
Stylish orange bracelet. This retro-cool resin bracelet with a 1970s-inspired look. A perfect addition to any bohemian-chic outfit.

3-Piece Orange Feather Earrings Orange
$6 –
Ah yes, the super popular feather earring. A great way to add a trend to your look without breaking the bank.

Haskell Earrings, Fuchsia And Orange Double Disc Drop Earrings
$15 –
Ride the happy vibe in Haskell’s retro-chic earring style. Vivid fuchsia and orange enamel discs hang from a silver tone mixed metal setting. Trends are in, just don’t spend a lot for the here & now and with these, you don’t have to.

Orange Enamel Flower Ring
$6.38 (£4) –
Orange Enamel Flower Ring. A very simple way to add a touch of orange to your wardrobe for a low price.

Color Craze Orange Large Cuff Bracelet Orange
$6 –
Give a tropical splash of color to your wardrobe with this fun orange bangle. Crafted of wood, this painted bracelet is fresh and ultra fabulous.

Bar Iii Necklace, Pastel Orange Statement Necklace
$38 –
Oooh, a statement necklace with a pyramid-shaped design. Set in silver tone mixed metal. Add it to a simple black sheath dress for something different at the office.

On Board Clutch
$69 –
As seen in the March issue of Allure magazine…..Color block envelop clutch with turn lock closure and metal hardware. Also has a chain shoulder strap that can be tucked in. Clutches are in, honey! I love them as long as I can fit a few necessary items in them. My clutches must serve a valid function, too small is a waste of money for me.

Zatchels 11.5″ Leather Satchel Handbag, Orange
$120 (£76) –
This satchel is everywhere! Fashion blogs, tumblr, Pinterest – everywhere! Handmade in England from the finest quality leather using expert craftmanship, this Zatchel handbag is a timeless classic you will have for years. It features matching cable stitching, silver nickel buckles and an adjustable shoulder strap for a perfect finish. Pretty cute.

Upper Haight Shoulder Bag
$170 –
Orange, smooth, malleable leather. Like a new car! It has a tassel, drawstring and chunky chain strap. Gorgeous and perfect in so many ways.

Aldo Capecoral
$62 –
The colorful platform! Major attention getter. Everything else would be simple or maybe I’d add a colorful contrasting clutch. Color is a major trend this summer & while I’m not one for trends, I like to find new ways to work with color. This is definitely it.

Diba Red Rose
$75 –
I actually own a very similar pair & I’ve yet to wear them so maybe this summer will be their debut. Cork platform wedge heels look great with pants, shorts, skirts & dresses! They’re so easy to slip-on & off plus pretty comfy for the most part. I’d pair these with tan, white or brown.

Jenna in Orange
$138 –
Toss these warm & sunny bow flats into your slouchy shoulder bag & when your date decides to go for an after-dinner stroll, you won’t have to fake your witty laugh when he points out the clever street performer along the way. These delicate bow flats will look good with a sundress or jeans and you’ll be comfortable yet cute.

Orange cork-look wedge heeled shoes
$72 (£45) –
Ok seriously, these orange wedge heeled shoes are making me wanna find something in my closet to pair mine with, and to think I was gonna sell those babies on eBay! so glad my sister convinced me not to. thanks sis.

Two Lips Helen Bootie – Orange
$70 –
What an odd name for a shoe. Anyhoo, these are hot and will be noticed so stay away if you’re not in the mood for attention. Love the wooden heel and orange suede fabric. I’m usually not a fan of suede but it works in this case.

H&M Ballet Flats
$13 (£7.99) –
Ok, I don’t like suede. Kinda hate it actually. But I do love ballet flats & tend to stock up each summer so this orange pair is perfect. Imitation suede be damned.

Nine West Larysa Wedge
$120 –
Again, just like in my yellow expose, some women can’t do heels & platforms are definitely out. So, a cork wedge is a better option while still opting for style and charm.

$89 –
Platform glossy cork-covered sandal with chunky heel. These shiny stunners remind me of something my mum wore back in the 70’s! I love their retro feel and chunky heel. Some would pair them with a dress but I’d go for jeans or a light slack. I’d want to polish up the old-school air just a bit.

Asos Sail Mid Heel Weave Detail Shoes
$81 –
This is a shoe you’re either gonna love or hate! Personally, I love the old-hollywood feel of the T-strap and woven design. Definitely not for everyday but for that one certain outfit that collaborates beautifully with this dreamsicle colored throwback.

Orange knotted ankle wrap sandals
$51 (£32) –
I’m too self-conscious to have my toes all out on display but I’ve always liked the look of open sandals such as this. Bold & on-trend in brilliant orange, making them perfect as a matching accessory for skirts and shorts.

Jessica Simpson Carrack – Camel Neon Orange
$99 –
That Jessica might not know the difference between tuna & chicken but the girl sure knows how to design a shoe! Get automatic celeb status in the Carrack from Jessica Simpson. This style features a camel leather upper with a vivid patent orange ankle strap and trim. Jess totally gets my love of nude with orange in this shoe & we share the same birthday month.. double score.

H&M Blazer
$40 –
Blazers work in any weather. Strappy chemise not allowed at the office? Toss on a blazer. Concert hall too cool? Blazer. Want to add a shot of color into an otherwise neutral outfit? Yep…blazer.

Dress Drap
$72 (£45) –
This sleeveless dress with a decorative draped shoulder strap is a lot of color for me but I love the design & who can resist a chic dress with pockets. Simple gold bracelet, tear drop gold earrings & navy clutch with nude heels would complete my look.

Orange floral print dress
$49 –
I SO love this dress! It’s perfect for summer and would look great paired with brown leather sandals.

Orange Peplum Top
$44 –
How I love a good peplum! They are great for enhancing a less than voluptuous back-side (that whole back pocket thing is such a myth!) and instantly dress up jeans or casual slacks. This top would add a subtle sophistication to a simple black pencil skirt. Include a clutch, gold hoops, a statement bracelet & nude pumps (notice how much I love nude pumps..) & a black blazer for when the weather cools, and you’re all set to go.

Verdia Detail Bustier
$165 –
Two words – summer. wedding.

Petite No. 2 pencil skirt in double-serge wool
$80 –
A true design icon—the pencil skirt—meticulously shaped and seamed to figure-flattering perfection (say hello to mile-long legs). The color is unexpected for a pencil skirt which makes it that much more appealing. A blush colored sheer blouse with a cream-colored spaghetti-strapped chemise underneath & black heels. Keep the lipstick nude with a subtle smokey eye & updo. Love.

Orange Floral Tunic Dress
$52 –
This lends a hint of corally orange amidst a grey long sleeve background. Very little accessorizing is needed here. Combine it with a nude clutch and grey heels with simple stud earrings and peachy gloss with grey lined eyes and soft silvery shimmer on the outer edges with a smoke color in the crease. Smoldering hot.

Orange belted pin tuck tunic
$39 –
Orange belted sleeveless tunic with pin tuck detail below neckline. Sweet and stylish for an afternoon outing or dinner date. Versatile for flats or heels.

Orange Heart Frill Blouse
$58 –
I’m not normally one for cutesy clothes with things like hearts or giraffes on them but the cut of this frilly blouse speaks to me. I’d only wear it with jeans and some cute sandals. Hair in soft waves & a pair of cute sunglasses tucked in the top, when they’re not on my face that is.

Orange bodycon dress
$49 –
Conservative sexy! Everything’s covered yet it has a natural shape to naturally enhance yours. Yowza!

$135 (£85) –
Funny name for a cam but very cute all the same! Silk layered sleeveless top features a V-neck, thin shoulder straps, and deep racer back. I’m sure it would look wonderful under a blazer with slacks or nude skirt.

First Classy Dress
$55 –
Oh how I love for sassy, original dresses you won’t see everywhere. This fashionable frock boasts flap pockets and a fitted back to its strapless silhouette. I’d pair this darling number with neutral or navy heels, chunky necklace and simple earrings or no necklace and dangly earrings.

Sunset Seeker Dress
$100 –
Glamorous, sexy and peachy pearlescent perfection in this flowy, seductive yet still sophisticated number.

Orange sleeveless 2 in 1 tunic
$39 –
Orange sleeveless tunic with black flared skirt, contrast band and back zip fastening. I’d add a skinny belt and cork wedge heels with a cute black tote, floating diamond necklace & stud earrings.

Orange Halterneck Top
$52 –
Sexy sleeveless top with fabric draping at hem to enhance the shape. Great for date night.
